If you're like me, you drive around a lot with your bike strapped to
the roof of your car. So the question often arises; When visiting
Washington, where can I park my car while I go biking (and expect it to
be there when I get back)!
Detailed Map of Suggested Close-In Parking Locations |
For example, parking garages are a pain since
you don't quite fit with the bike on the roof. Street parking can
be a problem if you need to feed the meter, but don't know how long you
will be gone. Well, here are some good tips for "biker friendly"
parking areas that allow easy access to downtown.
Suggested Distant Parking Locations |
These maps identify several suggested parking areas. The red lines show
the various biking trails leading into the downtown area. The 3 and 5 mile
radius circles provide a rough estimate of distance from the US Capitol. If
you are more "gung-ho", then you can try some of the distant parking areas.
