Map of Route

This truly "All Terrain Route" provides a nice workout between Germantown and Boyds. The ride takes you from the hustle and bustle of Germantown's Town Center out to the country roads and scenic farm lands west of Germantown. The ride also passes through Black Hills State Park, where you can do some easy mountain biking trails.

The ride starts just west of Germantown Commons Shopping Center (I-270, Exit 15). Much of the route is on narrow back roads, so you should be comfortable riding in these situations. However, traffic volume is typically light. Also, there is a nasty gravel downhill section as you exit Black Hills State Park, so you may consider walking your bike at this point. After leaving the park, 2.5 miles follows the paved bike trail along the east shore of Little Seneca Lake.
